About

Noah Schiltknecht

I was born in Ghana and raised in a tiny mountain village in the Swiss Alps. At the age of twelve I learned to juggle, fell in love, and never stopped. Juggling became my language. After having been trained at the Academy of Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg; movement, throwing and catching have become how I speak best about human connection, the world and our insides. This has allowed me to perform across Europe with Critical Mess, Kompani Giraff and others since 2018.

Coming from a family of musicians and pedagogues, I’ve spent nearly a decade developing the Amble Fusion Juggling Balls: sensor-equipped balls that create music and light effects in real time, making my experience of juggling audible. I co-own Zirkus Zirkusa which brings circus and art to schools, care homes and camps across Switzerland.

L'absurdité de l'existence is what makes life enjoyable for me. I like to explore serious things in a playful manner.

Amble Fusion

Juggling that creates music in real time. Custom-built, sensor-equipped balls turn every throw, catch, and spin into sound and light — the music only exists while the juggling does. It began as an idea with no engineering behind it, ten years of broken prototypes, now balls that finally answer back. Two shows touring:
Echoes (duo, 50 min)
Mersenne (solo, 20 min)

A solo built on one idea: rhythm and harmony are the same phenomenon at radically different speeds.

Harmony is rhythm, sped up.
