Moln

Circus meets poetry meets music · Kompani Giraff

A dream play between childhood and adulthood

Moln ("Clouds") is a circus performance imbued with music, inspired by the life and work of the legendary Swedish poet Karin Boye. Its framework is the tale of individuals living at each other's mercy in a vacuum between childhood and adolescence — dystopian, yet life-affirming, moving between the ordinary and the grand.

Playwright Stina Oscarson's script is an experiment in form, where excerpts from Boye's poems merge into a seamless universe, set to music and sung live by Jonathan Johansson. With a light, poetic touch, the piece casts itself between the dark existential abyss and the bright clouds that coexist inside all of us — particularly on the brink between childhood and adulthood.

Noah joined the touring cast in 2021, taking over the role created by Benjamin Beaujard, and performed with the multiple-award-winning production until 2023.

Press

"The poet's spirit hovers over the stage. Like Boye's poems, Moln speaks to all trembling hearts, young or old, who want to keep the dream of flying alive."

Dagens Nyheter

"With acrobatics, poetry and newly written live music, Kompani Giraff beautifully captures a borderland between dream and wakefulness, between childhood and adulthood."
